Joint Mobilization Therapy

Joint mobilization therapy is a manual therapy technique that is used to improve or manage musculoskeletal dysfunction. In this technique, the therapist apply different amount of force using skilled passive movements at different speed and amplitude to move or open the joint in order to decrease the pain , stiffness or swelling around the joint.

This technique mainly given to improve joint mobility , decrease pain and swelling generally occurs after trauma, injury or after any post operative procedures for example – TKR , post operative shoulder etc. It also helps in decreasing muscle spasm, tissue extensibilty, induce relaxation, improve blood circulation.

It is also used in frozen shoulder, osteoarthritis of joint , post fracture cases as it helps in increasing range of motion , improve movement restriction and achieving activities of daily living.
